Getting Started

What is DescBox?+
DescBox turns your product photos into ready-to-post listing descriptions. You upload a photo, pick the platform you want to sell on, and within seconds you get a description written specifically for that platform, plus a price suggestion and hashtags.
Which platforms does DescBox support?+
We currently support Vinted, eBay, Depop, Poshmark, Etsy, OLX, Facebook Marketplace, Mercari, and Allegro. Each one gets its own description style so it fits naturally on that platform.
Do I need an account to use it?+
Yes, you need an account. You can sign up with Google, with your email and a password, or use a magic link if you prefer not to set a password.

Using DescBox

How do I generate my first description?+
Upload a clear photo of your item, choose the platform you want to sell on, and hit generate. The AI looks at the image to figure out the brand, category, condition, and color, then writes a description that fits the platform.
What photo formats are supported?+
JPG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC all work. You can drag and drop the file onto the upload area or click to browse your device.
Can I generate descriptions for multiple platforms at once?+
Yes, depending on your plan. The Power plan lets you pick up to 3 platforms per generation. The Pro plan lets you select as many as you want.
How do I copy a description to my listing?+
Each generated description has a copy button next to it. Click it once and the text is on your clipboard, ready to paste.
What are the hashtags for?+
Platforms like Depop and Vinted use hashtags to help buyers find listings. The hashtags DescBox generates are based on the item type, brand, and style so they are actually relevant.
What is the price suggestion based on?+
The AI looks at the brand, item category, and condition it picks up from your photo and gives you a rough market price range. Think of it as a starting point. You know your specific item better than any AI does.
Where can I find my past generations?+
In the History section of your dashboard. You can search and filter through old generations and copy any description again whenever you need it.

Credits and Plans

How do credits work?+
Each time you generate descriptions for one item, it uses 1 credit.
What plans are available?+
There are three plans. Starter is $2.99 per month and gives you 50 credits. Power is $9.99 per month with 200 credits, priority generation, advanced brand recognition, SEO optimization, and custom tone adjustment. Pro is $14.99 per month with 500 credits and priority support. All plans also come with annual billing, which saves you the equivalent of 2 months.
Do unused credits carry over to the next month?+
No, credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. It is worth keeping an eye on your balance so you do not lose credits you paid for.
What happens when I run out of credits?+
You will not be able to generate new descriptions until your plan renews at the next billing date. If you need more sooner, you can upgrade your plan at any time from the Plan section in your dashboard.

Getting Better Results

The description does not match my item. What should I do?+
This usually comes down to photo quality. Try a well-lit photo with a plain background where the item fills most of the frame. If the brand label or tag is visible, that helps the AI identify it correctly.
Any tips for taking better photos?+
Natural light works best. A clean, plain background helps the AI focus on the item itself. For clothes, laying them flat or hanging them up gives better results than photographing them in a pile. For shoes and accessories, a close-up shot that captures any brand markings makes a real difference.
Can I adjust the tone of the description?+
Yes, on the Power plan you can set a custom tone to better match your personal selling style.
What languages are supported?+
DescBox supports over 70 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Polish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, and many more. You pick the language when generating a description.

Browser Extension

What is the browser extension?+
The extension lets you use DescBox without leaving the selling platform you are on. Instead of switching between tabs, you can generate a description and drop it straight into your listing.
Which browsers are supported?+
Chrome, Firefox, and Edge are all supported. Safari support is coming.
Where do I download the extension?+
You can find the download link in your dashboard and in the browser extension section on the homepage.

Billing and Payments

How does billing work?+
Payments are handled by Polar.sh. You are billed monthly or annually depending on which option you chose. You can change or cancel your plan at any time from the Plan section in your dashboard.
Can I get a refund?+
If you have used a significant portion of your credits, refunds are generally not available. If something went wrong or you have a specific situation, send us an email at contact@descbox.com and we will take a look.
How do I cancel my subscription?+
Go to the Plan section in your dashboard and cancel from there. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period.
Can I get a receipt or invoice?+
Yes. Polar.sh handles this automatically. If you buy as an individual you get a receipt. If you buy as a business and enter your company details at checkout, you get a proper invoice.

Privacy and Data

How long are my photos stored?+
Photos are stored while your plan is active. When your subscription ends or you close your account, they are deleted.
Is my data used to train AI models?+
No. We use the Google Gemini API to analyze photos. Google does not use API data to train their models without your consent.
How do I delete my account?+
You can delete your account from the Settings page in your dashboard. All personal data is removed within 30 days.
